Maesh crari also called Kalyadi is a milk product very rich in fats, proteins and carbohydrates. These can be fried on low flame and eaten as snacks or with rice. Pure, perfect and real maesh crari are available in villages near Pahalgam. The cost is about 600/kg, advantage of the crari of Kashmir is that they are dry, more tasty and are easily fried in oil in the same manner as the cheese is fried. Crari of Jammu are wet and resembles normal cheese. These are very difficult to prepare. You can prepare them by the following steps.

- Maesh Crari.
- Non stick flat pan.
- 1 table spoon oil.
- 3 table spoons of equal quantity of mixture of salt, mirchi powder, black pepper.
Method
- Spread and heat oil in a pan on low flame.
- Put very small pieces of maesh crari on the hot oil and let it melt and spread on the surface of pan.
- Sprinkle the mixture of salt, black pepper and mirchi powder on the maesh crari.
- Put it upside down till it turns brown.
- Enjoy the snack.
